Some Of 2012 on GO FEET! Radio 221

Truth is I really hate doing ‘Best Of’ shows to end the year. Many favorites get missed out of an hour and a half show. So instead, heres some *really* good music from 2012. If you want to know what I thought was hot during 2012 just look back over my playlists. I only play good music!

For the purposes of this show I’ve selected some tunes that have hit the spot for me, but I also want to acknowledge the bands too. So here some good music released during 2012 from great artists, great bands, great producers, and great recordings.

I’d like to thank all those who sent me music, media passes, allowed me to interview you or bug you online, I’d like to thank the GO FEET! listeners, downloaders, and friends. And I’d like to propose a toast to 2012: thank you for bringing it! And to 2013, lets get it on!

10pm-12am, CKUT, 90.3 FM, Montreal!

Hello radio massive,

Time to batten down the hatches and warm up the kettles, because winter is here in Canada! Even though the mercury is dropping, we still have a scorcher podcast to bring you this week.

Our special guest on the program this week was Ryan Chopik, organ player for The Harmonauts, a great instrumental early reggae band out of Toronto. The Harmonauts have been described by some as the Booker T and the MG’s of reggae, and Ryan tells us why! Chopik is also a staple of the Toronto ska/reggae scene. He has played keys for other great bands on the scene such as Prince Perry and the Gladtones, and Sound One. The Harmonauts have a brand new vinyl 7″ out, pressed by a brand new label called Interrogator Records. There is not much info on the web about Interrogator yet, but they are reportedly a reggae side-project of the Toronto-based oi/punk/hardcore label Insurgence Records. Keep your eyes peeled! And you can order a copy of the Harmonauts 7″ via their Facebook page.

Our guest on the program next week will be Los Furios from Vancouver! These guys released a wonderful debut album on Megalith Records almost 10 years ago, and they are back with a new EP called “Never Look Back”. Don’t miss it!

Also, with the end of the year coming up, we want to know what your favorite ska and reggae albums of 2012 were! Please email your best of 2012 picks to rebel@ckut.ca

Until next week, stay rude, and stay rebel
