GFR#233 WOMAD NZ 2013 Special with Nicky Bomba of Melbourne Ska Orchestra

Greetings everyone! Heres another serving of musical morsels for you, this time with ‘world’ flavors. I’m spotlighting artists that are featured at WOMAD New Zealand 2013 in Taranaki this weekend (15th-17th March). I catch up with Nicky Bomba over the phone about the Melbourne Ska Orchestra‘s new album and their being a part of Womad 2013 and Byron Bay’s Bluesfest 2013. Their album is HOT so tune in to check out some of the tunes!

Womad is a ‘Festival Experience’ thats not just about excellent music, its also about the artists swapping instruments and microphones for cooking utensils and unusual ingredients, its about film, its about the artists chatting informally with audiences about their lives, their music, and the inevitable effects that each has had on the other. There are more than 80 stalls trading quality art and craft, and food from around the globe. There are workshops with some of the weekend’s performers, a Kidzone and much much more!!! The venue is the stunning Brooklands Park & the TSB Bowl of Brooklands in New Plymouth, Taranaki. Camping is available on-site.
