Hello radio massive!

Welcome to another weekly podcast of Roots Rock Rebel! Seeing as the Montreal Ska Festival is fast approaching (October 11-14), we are doing a special focus on different artists in the festival in the lead up to the festivities. Our special guest on this week’s podcast is Jack Wright, the lead vocalist and keyboard player of the Brooklyn-based rocksteady band The Forthrights! The Forthrights have been playing around the NYC ska-reggae scene for a few years now, and they recently released a wonderful 7-song EP that you can download from their website. Even more exciting is that The Forthrights will be making their Canadian debut when they play at the Montreal Ska Fest next month. They’ll be playing the NYC showcase, taking the stage with The Rudie Crew and the legendary Victor Rice on October 12th. Not a show to be missed!

Also on the show this week, I brought back some vinyl goodies from Deadly Dragon records in New York, and gave them a spin on the show. We also hear some new music from The Beatdown, The Frightnrs, Mayday, Propagandhi, and more!
