Happy 50th Jamaica! Roots Rock Rebel August 8 Podcast

Roots Rock Rebel
Wednesday, August 8, 2012
10pm-12am, CKUT, 90.3 FM, Montreal!

Hello radio massive!

Welcome back to another weekly podcast of Roots Rock Rebel! Our show got a makeover this week, as we premiered our brand new theme music composed by Victor Rice. The track sounds very very nice, and we have a special video that Victor (aka Strikkly Vikkly) made up below. If you want to read about more about the creation of the new theme music, go here.

On August 6th, Jamaica also celebrated it’s 50th anniversary of independence, so we paid tribute again to that influential island on this week’s show. Of course, 98% of the artists we play on this show would not be around today were it not for the creation of ska, reggae, and dub music. So to tip our hats on this week’s program, we bring you a nice comprehensive mix of some classic Jamaican music!

Be sure to tune in to the program next week, as we’ll be joined live in the studio by Le Chelsea Beat! Watch out! Here come the mods!
