10pm-12am, CKUT, 90.3 FM, Montreal!
Bonjour!
Welcome back to another weekly podcast of Roots Rock Rebel! This week, we continued with our special sneak preview coverage of the upcoming London International Ska Festival. It’s going down in London, England from May 3-6, and the line-up is even bigger and more exciting than last year. Last week on our program, we brought you an interview with Dawn Penn, and this week, we bring you an interview with Dave Barker! Both these reggae legends are on the line up for the London ska fest, amongst many other stellar acts. Check out the whole line up here:
www.londoninternationalskafestival.co.uk
Dave Barker has been an international reggae star since he started taking the world by storm with his partner in crime Ansel Collins in the early 1970s. They had a chart-topping hit in the UK with their outstanding tune “Double barrel”. Dave got his name from his unique toasting style, which he even sampled for us on the phone during this interview. Dave shared with us some of his reflections on his career, and also his excitement to play the London festival.
Also on the podcast for this week, we bring you brand new music from the Mad Bomber Society, Daniel Flores, and The Inciters, who will be our guest next week on the program!
Until next week, stay rude, and stay rebel!
