Roots Rock Rebel
Wednesday, March 3, 2010
10pm-12am
CKUT, 90.3FM, Montreal!
Greetings radio lovers,
International Women’s Day is an event which is marked and celebrated
around the world every year on March 8. It is a day of struggle and
celebration to knock down patriarchy, sexism, and homophobia!
This week on Roots Rock Rebel, we bring you our annual International
Women’s Day special, packed full of the finest voices from the finest
women who have contributed to ska, reggae, soul, and punk. Plus we also
feature an interview this week with the one and only Pauline Black of The
Selecter, which was recorded in Montreal in September 2006.
Finally, for those of you in the Montreal area, please come out to the
International Women’s Day demonstration, organized by the Women of Diverse
Origins collective. It’s on Monday, March 8 at 5:30pm at the corner of
Atwater and St-Catherine west. See you there!
Enjoy this week’s podcast!
Until next week,
Stay rude, stay rebel,
RRR crew
