Mobtown Ska Sounds Episode 73 : A Tribute To Lynn Taitt

Lynn Taitt passed away January 20, 2010 in Canada. He is a pioneer in Jamaican music. He was born in Trinidad but made music mainly in Jamaica. His work as a guitar player/composer has influenced many generations of musicians. Taitt is credited for creating Rock Steady by slowing down a song called “Take It Easy” at Federal Studios. This song was a hit as was many of the songs Taitt played on. As a guitar player he changed the way the music was played. He played off of the bass player and their exchange was not only a rhythmic treat but defined an era of Jamaican music. This podcast pays tribute to this artist and the other great artists Taitt worked alongside including Lee Perry, Desmond Decker, Derrick Morgan, Justin Hinds, The Skatalites, etc.
